Custom market event mapping for financial institutions. From event to decision, and back

Not what happened.
What to do with it.

SenType reads the market as one story, gives your desk the tools to test its own take, and builds itself around you. SenType shows you how much today's news actually matters to your book.

The problem
4 a.m. Every feed, alert, and terminal hands you one piece of information at a time and leaves the connecting to you.

Isolated information is
the industry's default.

  • Lean desks. Broad coverage. The events that matter slip through.
  • The market prices what it notices. Stories given front-page prominence are priced within about an hour.
  • Stories of equal importance on other pages take more than two days.
  • That gap is where a lean desk loses money.

None of them answer the question a portfolio manager actually asks before committing risk: what is the context for today's narrative, how does it relate historically, and what does it mean for our positions?

Audience

One read, three roles,
no translation.

Each role gets the surface it needs, on the same underlying read.

Managers

Director / PM
  • Clear summaries across companies, sectors, and geographies.
  • Alerts that highlight what's likely to matter, before it does.
  • One view of what the desk is converging on.

Researchers

Strategy & theses
  • Easier comparison of themes over time, across regions.
  • Signals on articles whose topics have moved markets before.
  • Historical snapshots tied to current narratives.

Analysts

Coverage & execution
  • Clear links between news events and market reaction.
  • Less sorting, more analyzing. The boring work is done.
  • Signals shareable up to the PM without translation.
The sources

Three kinds of source.
One story.

A feed hands you headlines. SenType reads the whole story behind them.

News
Rumors and opinions.
Filings
The facts.
Market signals
Where liquidity moves first.
How it works

One loop.
For the whole desk.

Read the story, test your take, and let what your desk decides shape the next read. From event to decision, and back.

Weigh
SenType pulls news, filings, and market signals into one story, so you are reading a story, not sorting a feed. Every event is read for what it does to your book and ranked against the day, so you see the six that matter, not the four hundred that do not.
Test your take
Prove
You have a view. SenType gives you a place to work it out: analytics to pressure-test it, and a journal to write it down and see how it held up. Every read opens into the past events that rhyme with this one and the sources behind them.
Built around you
Shape
SenType starts full and gets personal. It reads the feeds and subscriptions you already pay for, watches your universe of names, and learns what you and your team weigh heavily and what you ignore. Start with our map, end with yours.

Day one: No blank canvas and no long setup. Begin with SenType's map and end with one that is yours.

One read for the team
Brief
Managers, researchers, and analysts all work from the same story, each on the surface their role needs, with no translating between seats. One read the whole desk trusts.
The compound

Every call sharpens
the next one.

SenType records the desk's judgment, not just the article pile.

What your team reads, tests, and keeps becomes a proprietary record of how your desk reads the world. It is kept, and it stays yours.

FAQ

Questions, answered.

What is custom event mapping?

Custom event mapping is how SenType fits itself to your desk. It maps every market event onto your holdings or watchlist, the feeds and subscriptions you choose, and the calls your analysts have made. You start from SenType's full map of the market and end up with your own.

How is it different from a news feed?

Feeds tell you whether news is positive or negative for the market. SenType reads the whole story and tells you how much it matters to your positions, including indirect exposure through suppliers, customers, and factors, and every read opens into the comparables and sources behind it.

Do you need my positions?

No. Bucketed weights or a simple rank order are enough, and watchlist-only mode works with no holdings at all. Client data is never used to train models and never pooled across firms.

How fast is the live event feed?

The feed processes and maps events to your portfolio as they break, adding the critical mapping value before delivery.

Do I need to maintain my own map?

No. SenType maintains the relations and mapping so your desk can stay focused on decisions.

How does it integrate with our tools?

A live API plugs into your existing desk infrastructure and brings event mapping to the platforms you already use.

Can we track niche publishers?

Yes. Global coverage can be extended with the specific trusted sources your desk already uses.

What happens to the maps we create?

The desk's recorded judgment is kept, and it stays yours. Every call sharpens the next one.

How does it reduce noise?

You see information when it has a mapped relation to your book, precedent, or other sources. The connecting work happens before the alert reaches you.

If we cannot show you why, we do not show you the score.

Security

Your map is proprietary.
It stays that way.

Built to protect portfolio data, recorded judgment, and the read your desk creates. Client data is never used to train models and never pooled across firms.

Scoped early

Security requirements enter the pilot plan from the beginning.

Desk-specific

Data handling and access requirements are documented around your deployment.

Built for diligence

Position sizes are optional, scoring can run client-side, and security documentation plus the certification roadmap are available under NDA. Ask us the hard questions in week one, not week twelve.
